Despite high expectations for a thrilling contest, continuous rainfall prevented even the toss from taking place, leading officials to call off the match without a single ball being bowled.

Both teams remain unbeaten, each with three points from two matches. South Africa leads Group B with a superior Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.140, while Australia follows with an NRR of +0.475. England and Afghanistan trail behind with zero points each.

Australia had started their campaign with a remarkable win over England, successfully chasing a record-breaking total of 351/8. South Africa also began strongly, defeating Afghanistan by 107 runs, thanks to Ryan Rickelton’s century and half-centuries from Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram.
