New Zealand’s white-ball stalwart Martin Guptill announced his retirement from international cricket on January 8, 2025. The 38-year-old concluded a remarkable 14-year career, during which he played 367 matches, including 198 ODIs, 122 T20Is, and 47 Tests, scoring a total of 13,463 runs and 23 centuries across formats.

Guptill expressed pride in his achievements, stating it was a “great honor” to represent New Zealand. He reflected on his journey, highlighting memorable moments such as becoming the first New Zealander to score a century on ODI debut and his record-breaking double century of 237 not out against the West Indies in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup quarter-final.
