Weeks after Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was removed from Pakistan’s central contracts, the decision might soon be reversed after a review by the legal team of the country’s board, an official source from the PCB said on Monday. The mess for Rauf started when his contract was terminated two days prior to the start of the PSL after he refused to play the Test series against Australia.
“There are chances that the appeal might be accepted and his contract restored,” the source said. Meanwhile, Rauf’s worries do not end there, as he is out of the PSL due to a dislocated shoulder. During the fourth match of Lahore Qalandars, he sustained the injury.
The source added that Haris had submitted an appeal through his lawyer. But apparently, the board isn’t happy with the comments made over the matter by one of PSL’s franchise owners, SameenRana. The latter had said that the timing of the announcement was unnecessary.
”Rauf’s our premier bowler, our highest wicket-taker after Shaheen Afridi. To publicly humiliate him and issue a press release announcing the termination of his central contract, I have never seen this happen anywhere,” Rana said in the interview.
“I would never treat my employees like that. The employee at least has the right for you to call, email, or message them. None of that happened with Rauf, and it was pathetic. It was really poor management,” Rana added.
