Sidharth Sharma, a Himachal Pradesh fast bowler, unfortunately died on Thursday, January 12, while on tour with the squad in Gujarat for a Ranji Trophy match.

Sharma had been ill and had been taken to a hospital in Gujarat. The precise reason of his ailment is unknown. Himachal Pradesh's newly-elected Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh, offered his condolences upon his tragic demise.

According to a tweet from CMO Himachal, "Chief Minister Shri @Sukhusukhvinder has offered heartfelt condolences on the death of Sidharth Sharma, the state's top fast bowler and a part of Himachal's Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning cricket squad. The Chief Minister extends his heartfelt sympathies to the lost family members."
